Troy women’s track & field to compete at UAB Vulcan Invite

Troy, Ala. – The Troy University women’s track and field team is set to compete at the UAB Vulcan Invite on Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama. The event will take place at the Birmingham Crossplex.

The Trojans previously began their indoor season last month at the same venue during the Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker. At that meet, sophomore Rachel Whyte finished first in the 300-meter race with a time of 39.59 seconds.

Other notable performances from the previous meet included junior Kristianna Ware achieving a personal best and securing fourth place in the triple jump with a distance of 11.75 meters, and sophomore Haley Wilson placing fifth in the 400-meter race with a time of 57.96 seconds.

This weekend, Troy will have 20 athletes participating in ten different events: 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 3000 meters, 4×400 meter relay, high jump, long jump and triple jump.

The UAB Vulcan Invite will be held on Friday, January 9 at the Birmingham Crossplex. Live results for the event will be available at Live.Xpresstiming.com.
