Freshman golfer Constanza Quiroga led the Troy Trojans in the second round of The Ally, held at The Old Waverly Golf Club and hosted by Mississippi State. Quiroga finished the day at even-par, recording four birdies, two bogeys, and a double bogey, with a 2-under 34 on the front nine. She began her round on the 15th hole after lightning caused a delayed start for all teams. Through two rounds, Quiroga is tied for 23rd place at 1-over par and her six birdies rank among the top 20 in the tournament field.
Troy improved its birdie count from the previous day, making nine total on Tuesday, six more than on Monday. Despite this, the team slipped to 14th place overall, now seven shots behind Jacksonville State. Florida leads the tournament by one stroke over Arkansas going into the final round, with Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State completing the top five.
Other Troy golfers saw mixed results. Laura Fangmeyer, who led Troy after the first round, dropped to a tie for 67th after shooting 12-over on Tuesday. Manya Saini and Victoria Stutts are both tied for 71st at 13-over par, while Evelyn Tankersley is tied for 77th at 19-over.
