Troy University’s women’s basketball team will travel to Worthen Arena to play Ball State on Saturday, February 7, as part of the second MAC-SBC Challenge matchup for the 2025-26 season. The game is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT (1 p.m. ET).

Head coach Chanda Rigby commented on the upcoming challenge: “Ball State is currently leading the MAC Conference with an undefeated record. For us to stay undefeated in this season’s two-game MAC challenge, we will need to be at our best when we travel to Muncie to play them.”

Troy began its 2025-26 campaign with a win against Toledo at Trojan Arena, bringing its overall record in the MAC-SBC Challenge to 2-3. In that game, Troy shot 46.7 percent from the field and limited Toledo to 25.9 percent shooting. Fortuna Ngnawo has been leading Troy in scoring with an average of 15.3 points per game and also leads in steals with 1.3 per game. Zay Dyer leads the Sun Belt Conference with seven double-doubles, averaging 12.5 points and a team-high 11.9 rebounds.

After playing fourteen games this season, Troy holds an 11-3 overall record and is ranked fourth in the Mid-Major polls and sixty-ninth in NCAA NET Rankings, with a conference record of 2-1 in the Sun Belt Conference. Ball State enters the contest ranked eightyieth in NET Rankings and sits atop the Mid-American Conference standings at 11-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 conference mark.

The MAC-SBC Challenge was introduced during the 2023-24 season following recommendations from strategic planning committees within both conferences for men’s and women’s basketball programs. Ordinal Sports Group assists with scheduling by considering NET data, geographic factors, and previous matchups between teams when determining pairings for each season’s event. The current agreement ensures every participating team receives one home and one away game each year through at least the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
