Troy, Ala. – The Troy women’s basketball team is set to return to Trojan Arena on Wednesday, January 7, for its first home game of 2026, facing Texas State at 6 p.m.
The Trojans (11-3, 2-1 Sun Belt Conference) have a strong record against the Bobcats (6-7, 2-1 SBC), having won the last ten meetings between the two teams. Last season, Troy achieved its largest margin of victory over any conference opponent on the road with a 105-58 win against Texas State and followed up with an 86-66 win at home.
To mark the occasion, Troy athletics will give ‘Frosted Cups’ to the first 200 fans attending the game. There will also be a concession special featuring pulled pork nachos. General admission tickets are available for $3.34 with the promo code ‘334’. During halftime, Troy cheer will perform their UCA Nationals routine and offer an encore performance ten minutes after the game.
According to Troy’s recent performances in league play, all five starters averaged double figures in scoring during their last two games. Emani Jenkins led with 18 points per game, followed by Fortuna Ngnawo (15), Zay Dyer (13), Rachel Leggett (12.5), and Ashley Baez (11). In addition, Zay Dyer tied Donette McNair for career Division-I rebounds at 767 following her performance against Southern Miss.
Troy has not lost to Texas State since January 6, 2018. The upcoming matchup will be the final meeting between these programs in Trojan Arena as Sun Belt Conference members; Texas State is set to join the Pac-12 at season’s end.
Through three league games this season, both Dyer and Ngnawo have averaged double-doubles. Dyer leads in scoring with averages of 17 points and 11 rebounds per game while also contributing two blocks and two steals per contest. Ngnawo averages a team-high of 14.7 rebounds and adds 16.3 points per game. As a team, Troy has dominated rebounding battles so far this season with an average of 55 rebounds per game and a plus-16.3 rebound margin—ranking third nationally behind Oklahoma and LSU.
Texas State comes into Wednesday’s contest after defeating Louisiana and ULM but losing to James Madison in conference play. On the road this season, Texas State holds a record of one win and four losses. Saniya Burks leads Texas State in scoring during conference games with an average of sixteen points per contest; Kyra Anderson follows at thirteen point three while leading her team in rebounds.
Several individual milestones are within reach for Troy players: Zay Dyer is poised to break the program’s Division-I career rebounding record on her next board; Emani Jenkins currently ranks first in career three-point percentage at nearly forty percent; Fortuna Ngnawo recently returned to double-digit scoring for her sixteenth time in seventeen games.

• The Trojans rank fourth in Mid-Major polls and sixty-ninth in NCAA Net Rankings.
• They lead their conference in several categories including assists (16.5), rebound margin (+11.5), defensive rebounds (31.6), offensive rebounds (17.7), total rebounds (49.3), scoring margin (+17.3) and overall scoring (85.6).
• Emani Jenkins leads the Sun Belt Conference with an average of three-and-a-half made three-pointers per game.
• The Trojans broke single-game records for points scored (132), three-pointers made (20) and assists (36) earlier this season.
• For three consecutive seasons, they have been crowned champions of an in-season tournament.
• Last year’s campaign saw them reach the WNIT Championship Game after leading Division I women’s basketball in rebounding for seven straight years.
