Former Troy University baseball players Adam Godwin and Clint Robinson have been selected for induction into the Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class. Both athletes had significant careers with the Troy Trojans before moving on to professional baseball.
Adam Godwin, originally from Enterprise, Alabama, is currently an assistant coach at Troy. During his time with the Trojans from 2004 to 2005, he was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Year and a Second Team All-American in 2005. He set a record for career stolen bases at Troy with 112, including an NCAA-best and single-season record of 84 stolen bases in 2005. Godwin was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 11th round of the 2005 MLB Draft and played four seasons in minor league baseball. His coaching career began as a minor league assistant for teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies before returning to Troy in 2020.
Clint Robinson was a four-year starter for Troy from 2004 to 2007. He earned All-Sun Belt honors in both 2006 and 2007, contributing to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances for Troy. The Dothan, Alabama native ranks third in program history for RBIs, fourth in runs scored and hits, sixth in home runs, and eighth in doubles. Robinson was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 25th round of the 2007 MLB Draft and made his major league debut with them in 2012. He played four seasons across teams such as the Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Washington Nationals.
The induction ceremony is set for August 23 at the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center located in Dothan, Alabama.
