The Troy softball team will continue its homestand with a three-game series against Texas State, beginning on April 10 and concluding on April 12 at the Troy Softball Complex.
This matchup marks the last Sun Belt Conference meeting between the two teams before Texas State moves to the Pac-12 for the 2026-27 season. The Trojans currently hold a record of 25-14 overall and are 5-7 in conference play, while Texas State stands at 25-16 overall and 6-6 in conference games.
Troy enters the series after sweeping a midweek doubleheader against West Georgia, maintaining an undefeated record of 7-0 in midweek games. Pitchers Esmee Ames and Savannah Money contributed to those victories, with Ames delivering her second complete game of the season by allowing just one hit and striking out eight batters over seven innings. Money earned her third win of the year in relief.
In their history against Texas State, Troy is currently behind with an all-time record of 13-24-1 but has seen recent success by winning two out of their last three series. Last season, Troy claimed a series victory (2-1) over Texas State when playing away in San Marcos. At home, they have achieved a record of 6-5-1 against the Bobcats.
Texas State comes into this weekend’s contest having won four out of its last five games, including taking its most recent conference series against South Alabama and sweeping UTSA. The Bobcats lead the Sun Belt Conference with an earned run average (ERA) of 2.58—ranked sixteenth nationally—and have turned more double plays than any other team in their league this season.
Looking ahead, both teams are vying for position as they approach the second half of conference play; Troy sits five games behind first-place Marshall and holds a two-game cushion above the postseason cutline.
