Troy University has announced the addition of guard Javier Gilgeous-Glasgow to its men’s basketball roster for the 2025-26 season. Head coach Scott Cross confirmed the move on Friday.

“Javier is a high character, motivated student athlete that will fit perfectly into our basketball culture here at Troy,” said Cross. “He will bring toughness, defensive grit, & tons of experience to our roster. He knows how to run a basketball team, and he is a great teammate too. We are excited to welcome this motivated young man into our Troy community. His impact will be felt on and off the court.”

Gilgeous-Glasgow played during the 2024-25 season at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he started all 24 games for the Bold and averaged 12.5 points, 4.6 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. He shot 41.7 percent from the field and made 31.1 percent of his three-point attempts.

Before joining Toronto Metropolitan University, Gilgeous-Glasgow spent two seasons at Howard College in Texas and appeared in 58 games with an average of 4.2 points per game.

His earlier career includes participating in the 2022 BioSteel All-Canadian Game and winning a National Championship with Team Ontario U15 in 2018.

Gilgeous-Glasgow is related to NBA player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as his cousin.
