Troy men’s tennis will play its final regular season match against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on April 14, the team announced. The away matchup is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the ABAC Tennis Courts in Tifton, Georgia.
This match serves as a tune-up before Troy heads into the Sun Belt Championship, which begins with the first round on April 16 in Rome, Georgia. The Trojans currently hold a record of 21-4 and are riding a fourteen-match winning streak.
In their most recent doubleheader over the weekend, Troy secured back-to-back 7-0 victories against Tuskegee and Eastern Florida State. In doubles competition, sophomore Thiago Drozdowski and freshman Stephan Tavares Noale claimed wins on Court 1, while senior Yeray Andres Pastor and freshman Ryusei Miyazato won on Court 3. Andres Pastor and Miyazato remain undefeated in doubles this season with a record of 4-0; Drozdowski and Tavares Noale are now at 10-3.
The team also dominated singles play during both matches as every Trojan won their court in straight sets. Sophomore Hiiro Sakamoto leads the team with an unbeaten singles record of 18-0 this season.
Following Tuesday’s contest, Troy will shift focus to preparing for postseason play at the Sun Belt Championship.
