Troy University’s men’s tennis team is preparing for its first home matches of the spring season, hosting Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) on Friday and West Alabama on Tuesday. Both match days will feature doubleheaders at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
The originally scheduled Sunday matches against West Alabama have been moved to Tuesday due to concerns about bad weather.
Last week, the Trojans faced nationally ranked teams Florida State and Miami in their season openers. Troy lost both contests 4-0 but managed competitive performances against strong opponents. Freshman Ryusei Miyazato and Stephan Tavares Noale played notable roles in the match against Miami. Miyazato fought through his second set, finishing 6-4 on Court 3 before play was halted, while Noale secured a 6-4 win in his second set on Court 5 before that match also went unfinished.
Both AUM and West Alabama are starting their spring seasons with trips to Troy.
Friday’s matches against AUM are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., while Tuesday’s contests versus West Alabama will begin at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Live statistics for all matches will be available at TroyTrojans.com/livestats.
