Troy University’s men’s tennis team will begin its 2026 spring season with two matches in Florida. The Trojans are scheduled to face Florida State on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT in Tallahassee, followed by a match against the University of Miami on Tuesday at 10 a.m. CT in Coral Gables.

The team enters the spring after a strong fall season, highlighted by the doubles pairing of Luciano Alcocer and Yeras Andres Pastor qualifying for the ITA Sectional Championships. In singles play during the fall, sophomore Thiago Drozdowski led Troy with five wins in tournament play (5-2). Drozdowski aims to improve on his previous record, having finished last year with a 3-3 singles mark and an 8-12 doubles record.

Sophomore Hiiro Sakamoto, from Kumamoto, Japan, is also returning for his second season. Sakamoto was named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year last season after posting a 26-7 overall record.

The Trojans’ spring schedule includes 14 home matches at Lunsford Tennis Complex. Their first home event is set for January 23, when they host Auburn University at Montgomery for a doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m., with another match at 2 p.m. The team’s first Sun Belt Conference match will be held at home on March 8 against Louisiana at 10 a.m.
