Troy University’s men’s tennis team concluded its opening week with a 4-0 loss to the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, on Wednesday morning. The match was affected by weather conditions, leading to an adjustment in the order of play, with singles matches being contested before doubles.
Despite the defeat, Troy players showed resilience in several matches. Freshman Ryusei Miyazato managed to win the second set on Court 3 after dropping the first but was unable to finish his match as Miami secured victory before its conclusion. Similarly, Stephan Tavares Noale won his second set on Court 5 and was trailing in the third when play was halted due to Miami clinching the overall match.
Yeray Andres Pastor lost his match on Court 1 against NCAA Championship qualifier Antonio Prat with scores of 6-1, 6-2.
The Trojans will begin their home schedule on Friday, January 23, hosting Auburn University at Montgomery for a doubleheader at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

4. Mehdi Sadaoui (Miami) defeated Louis Boilevin (Troy) 6-1, 6-1.
5. Rafael Segado (Miami) vs. Steph Tavares Noale (Troy) 6-1, 4-6, 2-0 unfinished.
6. Saud Alhogbani (Miami) defeated Thiago Drozdowski (Troy) 6-3, 6-3.
The order of finish for singles matches was Courts 4, 1, 6 and then Court 2.
