Week ending Feb. 11: Four businesses registered in cities found in Henry County

There were four businesses that registered in cities within Henry County in the week ending Feb. 11, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 100 percent more than the week before, when two businesses were registered.

Headland registered the most businesses in Henry County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
