One business registered in a city within Henry County in week ending Jan. 21

There was one business that registered in cities within Henry County in the week ending Jan. 21, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 67 percent less than the week before, when three businesses were registered.

Headland registered the most businesses in Henry County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
