Today we are getting behind the mask to get to know our MCB Healthcare Hero of the week, Kathy Ingram!
Kathy is an RN in our MedSurg unit and has been working at MCB for quite some time. Beginning back in 1978, Kathy worked full-time for 10 years before going PRN for 10 years, and we are so grateful that she has returned back to MCB full-time for 3 years now. She initially worked in the labor/delivery unit, then became the house supervisor, and even worked as the interim CNO for 3 months. Kathy has 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Her daughter, Carrie, also works at MCB on our MedSurg unit. When she is not working, she enjoys fishing and reading.
What is your favorite part about working for MCB?
“My favorite part about MCB is the people and the community here. I also like that I can easily get to work on time!”
What is something people don’t know about you?
"I am a huge patient advocate!”
What advice can you give on COVID-19 that you'd like to share with the public?
"COVID-19 is something you’re going to have to learn to live with, much like we have learned to live with the flu. It’s mutating and it’s here to stay, so the best thing you can do is to stay vigilant by taking your hand hygiene seriously.”
Thank you to Kathy for being an awesome MCB Healthcare Hero! We will be spotlighting one of our hardworking and dedicated healthcare heroes every week, so be sure to keep an eye out for these posts so that you can learn more about the fantastic staff that we have here at MCB!
