TROY Recognized Among Best Regional Universities in the South by U.S. News and World Report

Troy University has been recognized among the best regional universities in the south, by U.S. News and World Report’s 2022-2023 Best Colleges rankings.

TROY ranked 44th among all regional universities in the south and 17th among public regional universities in the south.

The rankings, which were released on Monday, take into account a number of factors of academic quality, including graduation and retention rates, social mobility, graduation rate performance, undergraduate academic reputation, student-faculty ratio, faculty resources and graduate indebtedness, among others.

The latest rankings, now in their 38th year, assessed more than 1,450 U.S. colleges and universities in an effort to assist parents and students in the college selection process.

“At Troy University, the most important thing we do is serve our students,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. “There is a culture of caring that exists at TROY where faculty and staff are committed to helping students succeed. I believe that commitment resonates with our students and continues to bring TROY national recognition from organizations such as U.S. News & World Report.”

The University’s commitment to serving military-affiliated students earned it the 21st spot in U.S. News’ Best Colleges for Veterans rankings, which recognizes colleges and universities that make pursuing a college education more affordable for veterans and active-duty service members. Nearly 30 percent of TROY’s student body is made up of military-affiliated students.

TROY’s undergraduate nursing programs also were recognized among the publication’s Best College rankings – nursing programs.

The U.S. News & World Report recognition is the most recent ranking to include TROY. In August, the University was ranked among The Princeton Review’s “Best of the Southeast” for the 18th consecutive year. TROY’s commitment to value also led TROY to be recognized as a national model for providing quality, affordable education in a report issued by the Partners for College Affordability and Public Trust, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to making high-quality, affordable college education a reality for all Americans.
