Dale County Board of Education issued the following announcement on Sept. 3.
It has been brought to our attention that a student at Dale County High School has recently tested positive for COVID-19. The student left campus before going to class this morning due to a family member testing positive. The student went to be tested and also tested positive. The student was not displaying symptoms. Close contact students/employees have been identified and contacted by school officials. Employees and students of this school should monitor for symptoms related to COVID-19 and seek medical attention if symptoms appear.
This message is being sent as a matter of public safety and out of an abundance of concern for the health and well-being of our students, staff, and community. Please be aware that individuals may also be contacted by local health officials regarding this issue.
HOME is the first point on the screening continuum. Students and employees that exhibit the symptoms of COVID–19 should stay at home. Families are encouraged to self-monitor symptoms of illness, which could include fever, dry cough, stomach ache in children, sore throat, etc. People with concerns or exhibiting symptoms should contact their healthcare provider.
