Eufaula City Schools issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.
Eufaula City Schools welcomes Mary Ann Vega Panjic as a teacher at Eufaula Elementary School.
Mary Ann, a native of the Philippines (“Pearl of the Orient Seas”), moved here in February 2016. She is married to Matthew who used to teach Physical Education. Matthew’s parents are former teachers with Eufaula City Schools. Matthew and Mary Ann have two boys (ages 8 and 3) and a baby girl (age 5 months). They also have a hunting dog named Ella.
Education: Camarines/Norte College/Bachelor in Elementary Education (area of concentration in English Language); planning to complete the last few units of her master’s degree very soon (M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Administration)
Mary Ann says, “I used to teach at a public school in the Philippines for almost 6 years, and I taught Pre-K babies in Auburn for 3 years. I am very blessed to get to continue my teaching career here in Eufaula where my husband is from. I love helping students and shaping their future and at the same time learning from them. "
