Troy, Alabama – Noah Edders, a right-handed pitcher from Troy University, has been selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 15th round of the MLB Draft. Edders was picked as the 451st overall selection on Monday.
“Noah is a kid who evolved so much in our program, and we are proud of how he represented himself,” said Troy head coach Skylar Meade. “I really believe he can pitch a long time in pro ball, and it will be exciting to watch the next phase in his development with the Cubs.”
Edders becomes the second player from Troy to be drafted this year, following Brooks Bryan’s selection by the Royals in the eighth round. This marks the fifth draft pick under Coach Meade’s leadership over four seasons.
Originally from Woodridge, Illinois, Edders transferred to Troy after starting his college career at Bradley. During his time with the Trojans, he started 14 games and achieved a 5-2 record with a 5.12 ERA.
In his impressive 2025 season, Edders struck out 67 batters while allowing only 27 walks over 65 innings. He held opponents to a .241 batting average.
During his single season wearing Troy’s colors, Edders pitched at least six innings in six out of his 14 starts. Notably, he completed a seven-inning game against ULM with an 11-1 victory and recorded nine strikeouts twice against Coastal Carolina and ULM. Additionally, he managed eight strikeouts in another win at Old Dominion.
